ORI is the founding shareholder of UK Specialist Hospitals Ltd which currently owns and operates four independent treatment centers in the UK. Its first facility, the Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre, which opened July 2005, is widely viewed as the best of its kind in clinical quality, patient service and productivity. Considering this performance record, the UK Department of Health signed a new contract with UKSH for three additional facilities which opened in November/December 2009. With these additional facilities, the UK firm provides specialty elective care for 34,000 NHS contracted cases annually, principally in orthopedics, ophthalmology and general surgery, with annual revenues of approximately $80 million for this contracted patient volume. ORI has assisted the American Heart Institute in Nicosia Cyprus in an expansion program that will more than double the size of the current cardio-vascular surgery and interventional cardiology program at the Institute and add specialty services in a new stand-alone specialty hospital in Nicosia scheduled to open the beginning of 2011.
